A Closer Look - The Shop

It's happening, you guys. It's really happening. Walls are up, tiles have been laid, lights have been illuminated and things are taking shape over here in Hillsboro Village. Our shop will be opening soon -- very soon! -- and we can't wait to show off everything we've been working on this year.

As a way to give you a little more insight as to what's happening inside of what Nashvillians know as "the old Sunset Grill," we're shouting out to the amazing people who have helped bring our contemporary spin on an old school soda and sandwich shop to life. We're thrilled with how everything is taking shape, so we want to give you one last opportunity to get a glimpse before we officially open our doors.

*Stay tuned for more on when that's happening!*

Below are the people who have helped make this thing happen:

Sign Me Up - Nashville, TN
We've been working with these folks since day one. They've wrapped our food trucks and keep us looking fresh while driving around town clad in our signature black and cream stripes. It was a no-brainer that we'd go straight to them when considering signage for the interior of our Shop. From light boxes to neon, the signage we've gotten from Sign Me Up will be instrumental in both the retro aesthetic and the directional flow of the shop. We know you'll love what they've created!

Red Rock Tileworks - Nashville, TN
It wouldn't feel much like an old school soda shop if we didn't have old school tiles to match, now would it? Not only did Red Rock Tileworks create beautiful hand-pressed tiles for us to use in our design, but these retro yellow tiles were glazed with our exact Grilled Cheeserie yellow pantone color, meaning you'll never forget where you are when you step inside our doors. We're also thrilled to have a unique yet consistent version of our black and cream truck stripes here at the Melt Shop!

Holler Designs - Lascassas, TN
Woodworker, furniture-maker and owner of Holler Designs, Matt Alexander has been essential to giving The Grilled Cheeserie Shop a healthy dose of warmth and Southern charm. Known for his work at Nashville favorites like Barista Parlor, Rolf & Daughters and Butcher & Bee (among countless others), Holler Design has created our beautiful baltic birch tables, counters and retail unit, all of which we cannot wait for you to see. While we really admire HollerDesign for the beauty and quality of their work, we also love that every piece is born of locally sourced and hand-selected lumber.

Hazelwood Laboratories - Nashville, TN
A creative agency first and foremost, Hazelwood Laboratories specializes in, "the artful design and implementation of music, video, and IoT {Internet of Things} technologies for brands." Instead of simply installing any ol' speakers into our shop, owner Joseph Hazelwood specially painted our music makers to match Grilled Cheeserie yellow - because to him, no detail is too small. We agree :D

Southern Light - Nashville, TN  &  Rejuvenation - Portland, OR
Let there be lights! It is pretty important, after all. We found great sources of light both close to home here in Nashville and all the way across the country in Portland, Oregon. Southern Light is known for their big, beautiful pendants and unique lighting installations all over Nashville (think: Rolf & Daughters, Barista Parlor & Two Ten Jack) and Rejuvenation is a lighting and home goods brand that creates beautiful modern lights that nod to both the past and future. In our opinion, mixing these two incredible brands together is a pretty bright idea.

Katie Vance - Nashville, TN
Our vision wouldn't have turned out this beautiful and perfectly Grilled Cheeserie, if it weren't for our incredible interior designer Katie Vance. Known for creating other gorgeous restaurant interiors around town like Butchertown Hall, Bar Luca and Butcher & Bee, we're so lucky to have her eye for design and ability to bring warmth and comfortability into a "fast-casual" restaurant.
